Fairacres to receive new fire truck

April 1 -- The Fairacres Volunteer Fire Department will receive delivery of a new fire engine this week. The pumper truck was built by Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, Wisconsin and sold by First In, Inc.

The new apparatus is equipped with a 1,250 gallon per minute pump, 1,000 gallon water tank, auxiliary pump for pump-and-roll operations, and hydraulic extrication equipment. An assortment of firefighting hand tools and salvage supplies will also be carried. Engine 1201 will be capable of delivering emergency medical services at the intermediate level in addition to automatic external defibrillation.

This unit will replace a Luverne/GMC 4x4 pumper that has served the Fairacres community for nearly 20 years.
